Masterclass: The World of Emoji is a performance in which musicians interpret a musical score composed entirely of emoji. Presented through the visual language of a corporate masterclass, the work plays with the tension between instructions and creative autonomy: performers interpret the symbols collectively, becoming co-creators of each iteration rather than simply executing a fixed composition.

Drawing from the tradition of graphic notation, the work uses standardized digital symbols whose meanings remain unstable and context-dependent. Each performance becomes an act of translation and reinterpretation, exploring how communication tools shape expression and meaning-making as symbols move between visual language, individual interpretation, and sound.

The score is projected live, allowing the audience to follow the same notation as the musicians and form their own interpretations of the relationship between symbol and sound. Each performance brings together a new ensemble, formed exclusively from instruments represented within the Unicode system.
