Tinder Activist (I’ll Send Nudes) is an online intervention that examines how digital spaces become sites of both political despair and resistance.
At the outbreak of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, some people turned to dating apps to reach Russian users, trying to share information and proof of war crimes out of the belief that Russians simply didn’t know what was happening. Revisiting that moment of naive yet sincere belief in people’s ability to do good, the work draws from real online exchanges where desire, propaganda, and fear coexist. It explores the tension between intimacy and ideology, action and inaction, and the fragile hope that even absurd gestures can provoke change.
